Project

At the end of the year 2006 the Haut-Saint-François SADC released the results of the socioeconomic diagnosis of the MRC. The report endorsed the importance of developing a sense of belonging in the Haut-Saint-François
region. Beyond identifying with a municipality, or belonging to a work
environment, it was observed that people tended not to have a sense of identification with the greater region. We believe that prior to developing a sense
of belonging and pride, the population first has to become better acquainted
with its less immediate surroundings.

The project entitled Fierté d’être du Haut-Saint-François (Proud to be in the
Haut-Saint-François) will enable people who might not have the opportunity to
travel throughout the region to discover the MRC’s beauty and diversity. Through
a series of 14 descriptions of the Haut-Saint-François municipalities, the history, attractions and recent and upcoming accomplishments of the people and entities
of the MRC are made known to the general public. The project is also intended
to highlight the role models for involvement in the community.
